Describe your art.
Bright, colorful, happy, and I've been told a little creepy, although I don't see it that way.
Who or what inspires you?
I'm inspired by the bright colors and the 70's, probably by the cartoons I grew up with, and Halloween. If I'd been born a few years earlier, I am sure I would've been a hippie.
What is your favorite medium to work with?
I love mixing all kinds of mediums, but if I had to choose just one it would be acrylic paint.
What's a fun fact about you?
I have a degree in Psychology and thought I'd be in that field until I retired. I didn't imagine I could sell my art for a living and thought it would just be a hobby.
Denise's studio is located in Scottsboro and is open by appointment and for open house in October and December. She's President of Art Society of Jackson County.
