Who or what inspires you?
The thing that inspires Courtney most is nature. Wildflowers and sunrises and all the wonderful colors that surround us... They all evoke a sense of beauty, serenity, and wonder that sparks creativity and curiosity within her.

What is your favorite medium to work with?
Ever since Courtney was a little girl, she has loved playing in the mud! So, it’s no surprise that her favorite medium is clay.

What's a fun fact about you?
Courtney did not study art in college. She is actually an accountant and maintains an active CPA license. Her pottery journey started when she asked a local potter, Sara Bowen, for a lesson just to see if it was something she would enjoy as a hobby. From that first session, she realized that this was THE craft for her. She immediately began researching and learning everything she could about the art of pottery. Creating on the potters wheel allows her to set everything in her mind aside. It has guided her through many episodes of depression and taught her how to better manage her anxiety. The positive impact that pottery has on her life is the reason she is so passionate about opening a studio and sharing this craft with the Scottsboro community.
