Melissa Ford Thornton

The Kudzu StoryCatcher and ScribeSouth

Description:
Award winning live storytelling on stages big and small - I have shared true tales throughout the Southeast at venues and festivals from Huntsville to Nashville to Chattanooga and Birmingham. My stories are heartfelt, poignant, comedic and family-friendly.

Inspiration:
Southern Storytellers such as Katherine Tucker Windham and Sean Dietrich (Sean of the South) remind me how miracles are spun from everyday life and make the best stories!
I draw inspiration from nature - especially water, from friends and family, from overheard conversation, frustrations such as long lines or airline layovers that somehow become memorable adventures.

Favorite Medium:
Live Storytelling Performance, the written page, and radio

Fun Fact: My favorite holiday is Groundhog Day because I am an eternal optimist. Worst case? We have 6 more weeks of winter!
